Choupette Lagerfeld is arguably the most famous cat in the fashion world. A blue-eyed Birman with an imperious expression, she was given to designer Karl Lagerfeld as a temporary houseguest in 2011 and never left. Lagerfeld, the longtime creative director of Chanel and Fendi, became completely devoted to her — describing her as the love of his life and stating he would marry her if it were legal. She lived with two personal maids, had her own iPad, and was chauffeured in a private car. Choupette modelled for Vauxhall, Shu Uemura, and several fashion publications, earning an estimated €3 million in 2014 alone. When Lagerfeld died in February 2019, he reportedly left a portion of his estate to her. She remains in the care of his personal assistant and continues to have an active Instagram presence.
