Duchess

Duchess is the graceful heroine of Disney's 1970 animated film The Aristocats. A pampered white Turkish Angora with blue eyes and a gentle, refined manner, she lives in luxury in a Parisian mansion with her three kittens — Toulouse, Berlioz and Marie.

The plot turns on an inheritance: their wealthy owner plans to leave her fortune to the cats, prompting a scheming butler to abandon the family in the French countryside. Duchess and her kittens must find their way home, helped by a streetwise alley cat named Thomas O'Malley, whose rough charm is the perfect foil to Duchess's poise.

Voiced by the Hungarian-born actress Eva Gabor, Duchess became one of Disney's most elegant feline characters, embodying warmth, devotion and quiet strength as she protects her kittens through their adventure. The film's jazzy songs, especially "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat," gave her story an enduring musical charm.
