🧺 Ingredients

  • 150g cooked chicken breast (shredded, no skin or bone)
  • 40g cooked green beans (plain, finely chopped)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp oat flour

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. Steam the green beans until very soft, then chop them finely — no salt, butter or seasoning.
  3. Combine the shredded chicken, green beans, egg and oat flour in a bowl.
  4. Mix into a firm dough, adding a little more oat flour if it feels too wet.
  5. Roll into small balls (about 2cm) and flatten slightly on the tray.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden and firm, then cool completely before serving.
Nutrition: Lean chicken delivers high-quality animal protein while green beans provide low-calorie fibre that adds bulk and helps a food-motivated cat feel satisfied — useful for weight management.

📝 Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 6 weeks. Green beans must be plain — never tinned with salt or cooked in butter. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your cat's daily calories, even the light ones.

⚕️ Before you cook for your cat

  • Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
  • Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
  • Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
