Milk-Jug Treat Roller
A cleaned plastic jug with a few holes becomes a rolling treat dispenser
A clean plastic milk or juice bottle with a couple of treat-sized holes cut in the side makes a rolling puzzle feeder — your cat nudges and paws it around the floor to shake out biscuits one at a time.

🧺 You will need
- A clean, dry plastic milk or juice bottle with its cap
- A few biscuits or dry treats that are slightly smaller than the holes you will cut
- Scissors or a craft knife (for the adult)
- A lighter or sandpaper to smooth cut edges
🔧 How to make it
- Wash and thoroughly dry the bottle and remove any labels and glue.
- Cut two or three holes in the sides, each a little larger than a single treat so biscuits fall out as it rolls.
- Carefully smooth every cut edge — briefly softened with a flame by an adult, or rubbed with sandpaper — so there are no sharp bits.
- Drop a handful of treats inside and screw the cap back on firmly.
- Set it on the floor and show your cat how a nudge sends treats tumbling out.
💡 Tips
A rolling, rattling bottle that rewards a paw-swipe with food is a brilliant boredom-buster for an indoor cat and a natural slow-feeder for a greedy one. Hard floors make it roll further and faster; a rug slows it down for a cat that is just learning the game.
📝 Notes
It is essentially free, endlessly repeatable, and a great way to reuse the bottles that pile up in every kitchen. Adjust the hole size and treat size so treats come out often enough to keep your cat motivated but not so freely that there is no challenge.
