Venus is a tortoiseshell cat who became a global internet sensation thanks to her extraordinary face, which is divided almost exactly in half — one side solid black, the other orange tabby — with a striking blue eye on one side and a green eye on the other.
Discovered on a farm and adopted as a kitten, Venus shot to fame after photos of her unusual markings spread across social media, earning her a huge following and features in national media. Her look has often been described as that of a chimera, a single animal formed from two fused embryos, though geneticists note her colouring could also be explained by an unusual pattern of cell development; without genetic testing the exact cause remains a talking point.
