- Loosen to a soft mash with a spoonful of plain water.
- Serve a small amount at room temperature; refrigerate and use within two days.
Nutrition: Duck is a useful novel protein for cats sensitive to chicken or fish, supplying protein and iron, while a spoonful of pumpkin adds soluble fibre that helps keep digestion regular.
📝 Notes
Duck is a richer, fattier meat, so trim it well, drain the fat and offer only small amounts as an occasional topper. Use plain 100% pumpkin, never sweetened or spiced pie filling, and cook with no onion, garlic, salt or seasoning.
⚕️ Before you cook for your cat
- Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
- Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
- Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
