🧺 Ingredients

  • 120 g lean turkey mince or finely chopped cooked turkey breast
  • 1 tablespoon very finely chopped, lightly steamed broccoli
  • 1 egg, beaten (to bind)
  • 1 tablespoon oat flour or ground oats

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. Steam a small amount of broccoli until soft, then chop it very finely.
  3. Mix the turkey, chopped broccoli, beaten egg and oat flour into a soft, sticky mixture.
  4. Roll into small pea-sized bites and space them on the tray.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes until firm and cooked through.
  6. Cool completely before offering one or two; refrigerate for up to three days or freeze.
Nutrition: Lean turkey provides low-fat, high-quality protein, while a small amount of broccoli contributes fibre, vitamin C and antioxidants that support digestion — bound into a firm, easy-to-portion baked bite.

📝 Notes

Keep broccoli to a small amount — a little adds useful fibre, but too much cruciferous vegetable can cause gas. These are treats and should stay well under a tenth of your cat's daily calories. Skip the treats entirely if your cat has a known food sensitivity to egg or grains.

⚕️ Before you cook for your cat

  • Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
  • Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
  • Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
