Firm, break-apart training treats of lean turkey and pumpkin, sized perfectly for reward-based games.

- Time
- 35 min
- Makes
- About 40 tiny treats
🧺 Ingredients
- 120 g cooked turkey breast, finely minced
- 2 tbsp plain tinned pumpkin
- 1 egg yolk
- 4 tbsp plain rolled oats, blitzed to flour
👩🍳 Method
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a tray with parchment.
- Blend the minced turkey and pumpkin to a paste.
- Mix in the egg yolk and oat flour to make a stiff dough.
- Press the dough into a thin, even sheet on the tray, about 5 mm thick.
- Score into a small grid, bake for 20 minutes until firm, then cool and snap along the lines into tiny pieces.
Nutrition: Lean turkey provides plenty of appealing protein in a low-fat form, and the firm, snappable texture means one small batch yields dozens of bite-sized rewards for training sessions.
📝 Notes
Baking the dough as a scored sheet makes it easy to break into consistently tiny reward-sized pieces, which is ideal for clicker or lure training. Lean turkey keeps the fat low. Store airtight in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for a month.
⚕️ Before you cook for your cat
- Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
- Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
- Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
