About 4 small portions

🧺 Ingredients

  • 120 g lean beef mince, no seasoning
  • 4–5 fresh blueberries, washed and lightly mashed
  • 1 tbsp cooked, mashed sweet potato
  • 1 tbsp plain water, to moisten

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Brown the beef mince in a dry non-stick pan over medium heat until fully cooked, breaking up any clumps.
  2. Tip off any excess fat and let the meat cool until just warm.
  3. Lightly mash the washed blueberries with a fork so they release a little juice.
  4. Stir the mashed blueberries and sweet potato through the beef, loosening with a spoon of water to a soft, spoonable mince.
  5. Serve a small portion at room temperature as a meal or a topper.
Nutrition: Beef delivers rich, highly-palatable protein and iron, while the small handful of blueberries adds plant antioxidants and a touch of natural sweetness. A spoon of sweet potato lends gentle fibre and helps bind the mince into an easy, spoonable meal.

📝 Notes

Blueberries are safe for cats in tiny amounts and act as a treat, not a staple — keep to just a few berries per batch. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.

⚕️ Before you cook for your cat

  • Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
  • Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
  • Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
