Nutrition: Lamb is a palatable red meat that provides protein, iron, zinc and B vitamins, and folding in a little mashed sweet potato adds soluble fibre and a soft, comforting texture that appeals to older cats or those recovering their appetite.
📝 Notes
Serve as an occasional treat or meal-topper rather than a complete diet. Lamb is rich, so trim the fat well and keep portions small, especially for cats prone to weight gain or tummy upset. Keep it plain — no salt, onion, garlic or gravy.
⚕️ Before you cook for your cat
- Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
- Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
- Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
