Nutrition: Rabbit is a lean, easily digested novel protein often chosen for elimination diets, and a small amount of mashed blueberry contributes natural antioxidants and a hint of sweetness without adding much sugar to the recipe.
📝 Notes
Offer as an occasional treat only. Rabbit is a useful novel protein for cats reacting to chicken or beef, but keep it plain with no seasoning. Use just a few blueberries — fruit should be a tiny accent, never a main ingredient, as cats are obligate carnivores.
⚕️ Before you cook for your cat
- Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
- Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
- Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
