🧺 Ingredients
- 100 g lean ground turkey

- 1 egg yolk to bind
👩🍳 Method
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with paper.
- Steam the green beans until soft, cool them, and chop very finely so there are no long stringy pieces.
- Mix the turkey, chopped beans and egg yolk into an even mixture.
- Roll into small pea-sized balls and flatten slightly on the tray.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, until cooked through with no pink remaining.
- Cool fully and refrigerate; use within three days or freeze.
Nutrition: Lean turkey is a low-fat source of highly digestible animal protein, and finely chopped green beans add bulk and fibre for very few calories — which is why this pairing suits cats on a gentle weight-management plan while still tasting like a real meaty reward.
📝 Notes
A treat, not a meal — keep to a few small bites a day so treats stay under about a tenth of daily calories. Use plain turkey with no salt, onion or garlic, and chop the beans finely to avoid any choking risk. Green beans are a popular vet-suggested low-calorie filler, but introduce them gradually.
⚕️ Before you cook for your cat
- Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
- Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
- Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
