🧺 Ingredients

  • 100 g skinless, boneless turkey breast
  • 1 tbsp plain cooked pumpkin purée (unsweetened, no spices)
  • 2 tbsp plain water or unsalted cooking liquid

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Poach the turkey breast in plain water until cooked right through, with no pink remaining.
  2. Let it cool, then shred or mince it finely.
  3. Stir in the plain pumpkin purée — make sure it is pure pumpkin, never the sweetened, spiced pie filling.
  4. Loosen the mash with a little of the cooking water until it is soft and easy to lap.
  5. Serve a small spoonful at room temperature.
Nutrition: Turkey breast is a lean, highly digestible protein, and a small amount of pumpkin supplies soluble fibre and moisture that can help keep things moving comfortably through a sensitive gut.

📝 Notes

Use 100% pumpkin purée with nothing added — pie filling contains sugar and spices such as nutmeg that are not safe for cats. A teaspoon of pumpkin adds gentle soluble fibre that many owners find helps with mild constipation or loose stools, but it is a comfort food, not a cure: ongoing digestive trouble, straining or vomiting needs a vet. Keeps refrigerated for up to 2 days.

⚕️ Before you cook for your cat

  • Homemade food must be balanced. Cats need taurine, and deficiency causes heart and eye disease.
  • Treat recipes are supplements to a complete diet, not a replacement for it.
  • Check any new ingredient against the toxic-foods list, and ask your vet before switching diets.
